Solo Exhibit at Evoke Contemporary

I’ve got an upcoming exhibit at Evoke Contemporary in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which will be available to view online November 27th, at www.evokecontemporary.com. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will not be an opening reception, the exhibit will not be able to be seen in person until at least December 1st, and possibly not at all. But cry not for me, dear readers! Just go to the website and check it out!

If you’re interested in receiving a preview of the show BEFORE the opening date, please email the gallery: inquire@evokecontemporary.com. Thank you!!

Angels In the Architecture - Group Exhibition

Though it seems kind of ridiculous at the moment, I'd like to let you know about a group exhibition that opens  Thursday, March 26th, at Talon Gallery in Portland, Oregon.  Obviously, there will be no opening reception, but the work from all of the amazing artists will be available to see online.  The gallery also plans to share a virtual walk through of the exhibition which patrons will be able to view online for the duration of the show.  There will be three new paintings of mine, one of which can be seen below.

“Homebody”, oil on wood panel, 14 x 21 inches, 2020

I made this painting right before we were all quarantined, and now it feels very creepily appropriate.

If you'd like to see a preview of the show before the general public gets to, visit this link:   Online Preview - Angels in the Architecture

I used this etching as a study for a painting that was exhibited in Chicago at Vertical Gallery in September. You can see it in the “Paintings” section of my site. Below are some photos of the print making process. I did not get photographs of every single step of the way, but that’s because I was busy working. Enjoy!

Aquatinted plate, after it was run over by an automobile. Yes, it was run over by an automobile after I put it on top of my car then forgot about it and drove away. I found it in the street minutes later. Happily, though, there was little damage to the plate, and even added some nice atmospheric elements in there. I like to think that a small pick up truck ran it over. Goes with the theme.
